   Participate in monthly close activities, resulting in preparing and issuing timely financial statements and reports to various organizational departments, managers, trustees, and outside agencies.• Review monthly financial information of the organization’s $50+ million operating budget to communicate explanations for significant variances between budget and actual results.• Supervise a team of three individual direct reports which includes the accounts payable and accounting functions.• Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly and assess a full reconciliation of 150+ general ledger accounts which allows for timely reviews and adjustments.• Conduct internal audits of museum processes and procedures, including parking lot and petty cash funds, and prepare reports for management and trustees on findings and opportunities for improvements.• Calculate and file tax returns for state sales, alternative fuels, employer withholding, and city parking, amusement, and institution and service privilege (ISP).• Support Payroll Supervisor with payroll processing, reconciliation of payroll bank account, and distribution of bi-weekly and manual payroll checks.• Manage the year-end IRS Form 1099 process by performing thorough reviews of vendor records and payment activity to provide accurate reporting of approximately 500 filings (1099-NEC, MISC and R).• Assist external auditors with compiling schedules, collecting information for sample selections, and answering audit inquiries.
