About Aditya Sharma

Aditya is a technologist working in the AI and Robotics space. He loves looking at AI through the lenses of both business development and pure research. He is strongly motivated to help drive and shape the future of AI through a blend of innovation, creativity and business strategy. He is extremely passionate about finding ways to democratize AI and ensuring that cutting edge research moves out from labs to solve problems of the real world. He believes highly scalable cloud and hybrid edge technology to be the single biggest enabler to make this happen. He is equally passionate about the more “pure” form of AI research that can help create solutions which weren’t imaginable before, like aiding space exploration, self-driving cars and autonomous robots. Currently, Aditya is a Senior Program Manager at Microsoft in the Azure org. His primary focus has been empowering startups and individuals working in the autonomous driving space, helping companies scale quickly by leveraging the power of cloud computing. To that end, he founded the very successful Microsoft for Startups: Autonomous Driving program in 2019. He also led Project Road Runner, the team behind the popular Autonomous Driving Cookbook on GitHub. He was also the Founder and Lead of Microsoft’s Deep Learning & Robotics Garage chapter. Aditya also contributed as guest author in O\'Reilly\'s recently published \"Practical Deep Learning for Cloud, Mobile, and Edge\" book.Aditya graduated from Carnegie Mellon University\'s Robotics Institute where he worked on robot swarms, acoustic event detection technology for self-driving cars and compression techniques for neural networks among other projects. Select recent announcements/invited appearances: • Host, ISQED\'21, Autonomous Driving Safety panel, March 2021 • Tech Exceptions: • Speaker, Microsoft Ignite, Sep 2020 (Remote) • Speaker, Microsoft Build, May 2020 (Remote) • Panelist, Driving Simulation Conference, 2019 (Strasbourg, France)
