During my 6-month internship at Proxgy, a company focused on developing turnkey systems for IoT devices, I had the opportunity to contribute to five different projects, gaining hands-on experience across the full product development cycle. My primary responsibilities included schematic design using EasyEDA and Altium, 2-layer PCB design, hardware debugging, rework, and board bring-up. I developed and tested multiple POCs, performed sub-assembly tasks, wire routing, sensor integration, and final product packaging. I was also involved in procurement and vendor communication—researching components on platforms like Alibaba and negotiating with suppliers such as Würth and 3M. I manually soldered fine-pitch components including 0201 packages and participated in component and product certification processes. Additionally, I contributed to R&D across various technologies, worked on EBOMs, and gained a strong understanding of code architecture, including reading and optimizing embedded code to suit specific use cases. This experience gave me a comprehensive understanding of the IoT product lifecycle and significantly enhanced my skills in product development and management.
