I have 12+ years of experience currently working as Engineering manager with experience in full-stack of high scale and high-availability distributed systems. I am currently managing 2 SRE teams at Shopify for APAC and EMEA regions. In this role I am responsible for resiliency of the platform working on Incident Lifecycle, Proactive measures using Chaos testing, adding different feedback loops to detect and mitigate incidents faster, improving observability and many more. In the past am currently managing and growing data aggregator APIs and API Gateway platform team. I have also worked in P2P communication, Identity, B2B incentives, eCommerce domains. From the business perspective my team works with high scale, reliable, and performant Distributed systems with a scale of over RPS used by 50+ teams and 500+ developers in the organization. We provide these high scale platform with differentiated organizational value while keeping a low Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). With focus on Product thinking, methodical, analytical, SRE, and algorithmic concepts we apply iterative improvements to create Customer value. I believe in emphasizing team over rockstars, outcome over output, mental models over gut feeling. In the role of Engineering Manager at Zalando, I helped grow the team size from 3 to 11 developers.
