kWh Analytics is the market leader in solar risk management, with the largest database of solar asset performance for both residential and utility scale systems. Being a small company, I wore many hats. Sometimes I improved the efficiency of our pipelines, and designed and created databases that served various functions. Sometimes I created metrics to display on “Heliostats”, kWh’s risk-management platform. Sometimes I worked on analyses to present to the Department of Energy, and other clients. I spent the majority of my time developing the physical model for the \"Solar Put\", kWh’s insurance product, from scratch. This model generates probability distributions for annual output energy from a solar array using historical solar insolation and weather data, along with data on equipment and design. As the Solar Industry grows exponentially, the model is updated continuously.
