About Aditi Podder
I am Aditi Podder, currently working as an Industrial Water Engineer at Brown and Caldwell. I worked as Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Central Florida (UCF), where I worked on a project funded by the Florida Department of Environmental Pollution (FDEP) that aims at the removal of perfluorinated compounds and microcystin from the canal water using a UCF patented \"Bold and Gold\" technology. This technology uses green environmental media in the sustainable removal of contaminants from water and wastewater.I completed my Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Utah in August 2020. I graduated with a Masters from the University of Utah in December 2019. I completed my BSc in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). I have worked as both a graduate teaching assistant and graduate research assistant at the University of Utah. In my research career, I have worked on various multidisciplinary projects emphasizing water/wastewater/remediation/solid waste management. I have presented my research in 16 peer-reviewed national and international conferences. The project on which I have worked/am working on are summarized below.1. Developing Strategies to Recover and Treat Nutrients in the Landfill Leachate, a collaborative project between University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah and University of Central Florida, Orlando, Florida, funded by the Environmental Research and Education Foundation (EREF) 2. Development of a Cost-effective Treatment Train to treat Legacy Munitions and Insensitive Explosives, a project approved for University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah, funded by the Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program (SERDP) 3. Microbial Source Tracking, funded by Department of Water Quality, Utah 4. The fate of Per and polyfluorinated alkyl substances in various components of the treatment train at Central Valley Water Reclamation Facility (CVWRF), Salt Lake City, Utah 5.
