About Aditi Khare
I am an Associate Senior Electrical Engineer with over 4 years of experience in the utility/consulting industry. I have acquired numerous professional skills while working both at Burns & McDonnell and Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative. I have worked on challenges like outage analyses, distribution planning, reliability analyses, contingency analyses, protection and coordination studies. I also have experience in substation design including protection & control design and physical design. I have also completed grounding studies using AutoCAD and CDEGS. Here\'s some interesting projects that I have worked on- Complete substation design of a new greenfield sub in the Minnesota area which includes PnC, design, physical design and grounding analysis- Developed, completed and documented a system wide Arc Flash study using software packages, CYME and ArcPro- Collaborated with engineers to develop settings and test plans for new incoming SEL relays- Updated relay transmission settings and one lines at a substation- Designed processes to set and test new microprocessor based switchgears- Reviewed and recommended protection settings for distribution feeders- Carried out multiple capacity, contingency and reliability based analyses for specific areas of the system- Worked on supplying appropriate fault current letters and recommended settings to customers at point of demarcation- Analyzed and documented major outages. Apart from the assigned projects at work, I am constantly searching for ways to improve my skillset and interact with more professionals in the industry. I passed the Fundamentals of Engineering license in September of 2021, my first year working as a full-time professional. I have attended various online and offline trainings from companies like SEL, Doble, MEPPI, Eaton and CYME. I was an attendee at the 75th Annual Georgia Tech Protective Relaying Conference in 2022.
