About Adithi Kumar
ON PAPER: – Master of Public Health in Population & Family Health with a specialization in Public Health & Humanitarian Action from Columbia University– Recipient of the 2025 Award for Excellence in Global Health by Columbia University– Built on a dual Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Human Health from Emory UniversityBEYOND THE PAPER: I’m a global health innovator with a storyteller’s soul and a backpacker’s grit – strengthening interventions and reforming global health ecosystems. An example? I developed an original film-game hybrid tool to accelerate policymaker uptake in early childhood development interventions with The AfriChild Centre and IRC. I work at the intersection of maternal & child health, humanitarian action, implementation science, and policy reform to close the research-policy-program gap between systems and families. Why? So every mother and child thrives, not merely survives.WHO AM I: Raised across Australia, India, and the U.S, with field experience spanning four continents, including Sub-Saharan Africa, and academic rigour at Columbia, I’m fiercely principled, endlessly adaptable, and relentlessly curious.MY UNIQUE INTEGRATIVE TOOLKIT: Built with intention: blending rigorous expertise in outbreak and GBV response, child protection, UN risk management in crisis response, program evaluation, global health governance, investigative methods, and implementation science WITH public speaking and creative craft in filmmaking to build narratives that move decision-makers. The goal? Decode complexity, design interventions that work on the ground, and meet challenges with agility, creativity, and precision.A GLIMPSE INTO MY WORK:– Deployed in Ugandan refugee settlements to strengthen bridges between research, practice and policy for displaced children and SGBV survivors with The AfriChild Centre.– Delivered humanitarian reform interventions directly to UN Member States at the 63rd Commission for Social Development.– As Chairperson of JENZA’s Youth Advisory Panel and a UN 2.0 Youth, championed B-Corp-centered youth strategies at WYSTC 2023, Lisbon and beyond.– Invited as one of 10 young leaders globally to shape the UNDP Human Development Report 2025 on human development and digital transformation.– Refined global malnutrition micronutrient assessments with the CDC.Ready to collaborate or catalyze in global health and impact storytelling?
