I impartially investigated complaints of police misconduct and recommended appropriate disciplinary action to the Board. My investigations were in-depth and fact-finding in nature, and involved the following- interviewing complainants, victims, and witnesses from diverse social, economic, racial, ethnic, and religious backgrounds, focused on discerning the full incident from the civilian\'s point of view- researching and obtaining documentary evidence for cases, including medical and police reports- interviewing police officers involved in complaints, accompanied by union-issued attorneys and representatives, in order to understand the incident from the officers\' perspective- researching relevant case law, police department guidelines, and disciplinary standards; and- drafting typo-free, grammatically correct, and on-deadline summaries of interviews and closing reports, which included my factual findings, analysis of the relevant legal and disciplinary standards, and my recommendations to the Board.
