ABOUT ADIL TAHIR

I represent the BAE Systems Air Manufacturing function (covering UK, Saudi and Australia) to lead and deliver continuous improvement projects. From reducing paint damage on an aircraft, to proving the capability of machines, these projects can have a significant effect on the business, particularly in relation to SQCDP (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People).Prior to this, I completed the BAE graduate scheme, during which I undertook varied placements in: • US Programmes (F-35) • Chief Technology Office (Air head office) • BAE High Speed Wind Tunnels • MBDA Missile Systems (secondment)These roles have enabled me to develop my knowledge in continuous improvement, become the first person certified on the BAE Systems Six Sigma Black Belt, coach and train Lean and Six Sigma, and act as the only continuous improvement presence in a high profile manufacturing facility. On top of this, I acquired a Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma in Engineering Competence, adding to my first class Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering.I am very passionate about engineering and continuous improvement, undertaking various lean courses (including Lean Management at Toyota), acquiring Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification and pursuing engineering Chartership.Outside work, I enjoy hiking, reading, TV and movies, and immerse myself in different cultures, visiting over 50 cities outside the UK.
