ABOUT ADHISH PARKAR
Adhish Parkar is an experienced architect and urban planner with a demonstrated history of working in the architecture and urban design industry. His interest in the politics of large-scale design interventions and concerns about climate change consequences on human habitation has led him to pursue a Masters\'s in City and Regional Planning degree from Cornell University. He is currently working at Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) as an Urban Designer.Originally from India, his participation in design workshops with universities in Shanghai, Taipei, Tokyo, and Madrid touching on contemporary urban issues of housing density and public spaces has provided a well-rounded understanding of the reciprocal actions of the people in diverse contexts.Parkar has been recognized by Cornell University, KRVIA, and UNI for his work on the climate-resilient areas and design strategy for Andaman & Nicobar Islands in India. Recently, he received a grant prize from the Priscilla King Grant Center at MIT, Cambridge, for a collaborative documentary movie on decentralized water systems in the city of Pune. This research also received a research award from Clarence S. Stein Institute at Cornell University, Ithaca. He was also a part of the Cornell University team that received a second-place award for the annual Campus RainWorks Challenge.
