About Adeline Smith

I am an Honors STEM Scholar student at the University of Connecticut studying Biomedical Engineering and minoring in Electronics & Systems, Mathematics, and English. I am interested in the intersection between healthcare and engineering in order to create more individualized and efficient health solutions through medical devices. In 2025, I was an R&D Intern in Boston Scientific\'s Urology division working on an NPD team!In 2024, I was a Product Engineer Intern at Medtronic on the Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) team. I worked on material FEA, product teardowns, and VAVE event work.In 2023, I was a Women in Science & Engineering (WISE) Intern at Medtronic on an R&D team within Surgical Innovations. I headed a clinical research project in addition to learning about various engineering roles and skills.I am currently working with the UConn & URI Navy STEM Program as the President and High School Outreach Lead to inspire the next generation of engineers by leading naval engineering related workshops with K-12 schools across Connecticut.
