The UWS Cinema Center (UWSCC) is a 501(c)(3) corporation whose mission is to reclaim the 18-year abandoned, historic Metro theater at 2626 Broadway and 99th Street, preserve the landmarked marquee, and transform it into a non-profit, five-screen cinema arts and education center with a stylish bistro/café. This project would enrich the cultural and community life of the Upper West Side and the Uptown part of the city, establish a destination for film lovers of independent cinema, and encourage a more robust neighborhood commercial district.More about our mission & plans to Reclaim the Metro: uwscinema.org
