I am an experienced Officer with a demonstrated history of working in the government administration industry. I am skilled in facilitation, Community Engagement, Community Development, and Stakeholder Engagement. I have a strong professional background with a FdA Distinction focused in Community Regeneration and Development from University of Derby. I am the Council’s lead officer on engaging children and young people to ensure their needs are reflected when the Council sets its priorities and develops its services, this enables the Council to fulfil its statutory duty to consult. I am also a Regulation 44 Visitor for children\'s residential homes for Derby City Council.By ensuring that the voice of the child is heard my role specifically is to:• Devised, manage and deliver a city-wide strategic youth council for young people aged 11 to 19 and up to 25 for young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)• Develop and manage a constitutional election process and civic role for a Youth and Deputy Mayor• Manage and support Youth and Deputy Mayor, for example with the delivery of school assemblies, attending civic events, award ceremonies, conferences both locally and nationally• Develop participation standards, best practice and quality assure practice both locally and regionally• Create and improve processes to ensure the voice of the child is evidence throughout child protection processes, for example personal education plans for children in care• Lead on engagement with specific groups through one to one interview, focus groups, task and finish groups or project group with children and young people aged 0 -19 and up to 25 for those with special education needs and disability. • apply primary and secondary techniques to issues affecting diverse communities to inform decision making and ensure services are delivered appropriately• support the strategic direction and provide guidance and support to council officers and elected members to enable them to fulfil their roles• mapped process and practice of participation within the Local Offer (Social Care, Education, Health) children and young people with SEND highlighting strengths and areas for improvement.
