ABOUT ADEEL ARSHAD
My self-Adeel Arshad, a young research scientist and potential leader with significant skills and expertise in experimental and computational analysis of Thermal, Fluids & Energy Sciences especially in thermal management and composite energy storage materials. I am a Mechanical Engineer by training and holds a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering specialization in Thermofluids from the FLUTE Research Group at the University of Nottingham, UK. My objective is to pursue research in a field closely related to my background to develop novel zero-noise and zero-emission cooling technologies and thermal energy storage materials to achieve the goals of Net-Zero by 2050 for the UK. Currently, I am working as a Research Associate at Aston University, UK on a Innovate-UK research project \"CoolRun Malawi\" for the African market based on Phase Change Material (PCM). Prior to joining the Aston University, UK, I have worked as a Research Fellow funded by EPSRC Research Project at the University of Exeter, UK. Before that, I have worked at Northumbria University, UK and Aston University, UK as a Research Associate on lower-to-higher heat flux dissipated electronic devices research projects and computational modelled the hybrid cooling technologies using Ansys-FLUENT, COMSOL Multiphysics and machine learning (ML) tools. My academic experience and research training of last eight years prepare me to be a potential and leading researcher in the area of phase change materials (PCMs), hybrid nanofluids (HNFs), conjugate heat transfer, multiphase fluid flow, smart composite materials, heat transfer enhancement, windows-glazing and portable cold thermal energy storage system for clean and sustainable energy transition. My research mainly focused on development of novel composite energy storage materials and novel thermal management cooling technologies for microelectronics, batteries and PV modules, solar-to-thermal clean heating/cooling decarbonization technologies for buildings and industries, windows-glazing for building energy efficacy and mobile passive cold storage systems for perishable goods and medical supplies by adopting experimental, computational and optimization methods. My research outcomes have been internationally recognised and published in Q1 category journals and conferences which can been accessed through my personal webpage, here. He is also ranked in the World’s Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University, USA in 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024. He has also been nominated for The Scopus Early Career Researcher UK Award 2020 by Elsevier.
