About Addison Young
Engineering isn’t just about building; it’s about sustaining. My interest in engineering lies between water quality, green infrastructure, and environmental policy. As a second-year Environmental Engineer a NC State, I am working to develop skills and tackle these issues in three ways:Research: Investigating the impact of phosphorus runoff on lake greenhouse gas emissions at NC State.Industry: Learning the ropes of environmental compliance and roadway design as a NEPA intern with Kimley-Horn.Service & Advocacy: Working on sustainable solutions for the Engineers Without Borders Guatemala Water and Sanitation team and driving community engagement as an officer for the College Democrats.I am committed to using engineering as a tool for real-world policy change. I’m looking to connect with professionals and peers who are just as passionate about clean water and sustainable innovation as I am.
