I’m a leader-of-leaders currently responsible for leading an organization of 20+ engineers and multiple managers. I have experience growing high-performing managers and senior engineers. I manage multiple teams on the critical request-path for S3 that are vital for upholding availability, performance, consistency, durability, and security. I solve problems at scale, having managed fleets of 100K+ hosts and services that support hundreds of millions of TPS and durably store more than a quadrillion customer entries.In addition to standard safety gates such as integration tests and canaries, my teams employ advanced techniques such as formal modeling and conformance checking to ensure we safely deliver disruptive changes for our customers. I’ve driven multiyear strategic initiatives across multiple organizations, domains, and countries that include customer-impacting benefits and $100MM+ capital-expenditure savings. I’ve built strategic relationships to shepherd new technologies within my broader organization. I uphold insistence on the highest operational standards by setting expectations around the conduction of best practices for root causing, customer wording, and operational readiness. I\'m trusted to manage customer escalations with billion-dollar contracts.Before transitioning into management, I had 10 YOE as an engineer, working on mainframes, local servers, and the cloud. I’ve worked in corporate environments and at a startup. I’ve created multiple distributed systems from scratch and have experience with backend and frontend development. As a senior software-development engineer at AWS, I helped to deliver impactful projects such as linearizable consistency for S3. Specifically, I contributed to a patent-worthy project for transaction management for monotonic write-consistency in a distributed storage system.As a leader, I emphasize inclusivity, diversity of opinion, growth, and critical but empathetic feedback.
