ABOUT ADAR PELAH
Working mostly from an academic base, I have developed and commercialized innovative translational technologies and elucidated basic sensorimotor mechanisms, leading clinical studies to address unmet clinical needs in neurology and musculoskeletal physiology. Research contributions include discovery of the adaptive perceptual neural pathways in human locomotion (cover of Nature 1996) and the close-coupled unconscious visuo-locomotor sensory signals in cortical blindness (Vision Research 2014). Translational contributions include founding an AI medical technology company, awarded a Royal Academy of Engineering Enterprise Fellowship, and receiving a number of patents and award-winning innovations: KidzEyez pediatric perimeter, winner of National Health Service First Prize in MedTech,(Journal of the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology 2012); the StroMoHab system, winner of UK Research Councils Finalist Prize for biofeedback mobility rehabilitation; and the StepSense platform (Frontiers in Human Neuroscience 2020) for machine learning diagnostics and rehabilitation of neurological and musculoskeletal conditions, alleviation of pain in chronic disease, and Long COVID (Brain Sciences 2021).
