About Adam Bradley
Hands-on problem solver with a PhD in experimental physics. Given a physical problem and a goal, I will figure out a solution. Want to build apparatus or participate in production that positively impacts humanity and can educate people in the joys of our physical world, whether it\'s physics, craft beer, or new technologies.Experience: Extensive use of orbital tube welding; machining with end mill, lathe, drill press, band saw; and drafting in 2D with AutoCAD and 3D with Cubify Design. Pumps (piston, scroll, membrane, turbo molecular) and fluid handling.Data analysis using Matlab, C++/ROOT, and Python.Education and outreach, imparting my enthusiasm and love of physics and the physical world to others. I worked on two medium-large rare event search physics experiments that required detail-oriented design, construction, deployment, testing, operation, and troubleshooting, particularly during construction when stringent cleaning and assembly practices were required to minimize contamination. I led the effort to construct the cooling system used in the LUX Dark Matter Experiment, designing, engineering, prototyping, deploying, operating, and training the collaboration in its use. The ~0.1-K stability and 1 K/hr cooling parameters allowed stable operation of the LUX detector for its initial 90-day unblinded WIMP search and its 300-day data campaign. On the MAJORANA Demonstrator I was a deputy task manager for the assembly, testing, and deployment of the crystal Ge-PPC detectors and their support infrastructure. I managed personnel and equipment needs, as well as the schedule.I am now at Rigetti Computing, a full stack quantum computing startup that is going two-to-toe with giants in providing the next generation of post-transistor computing. I ensure smooth operation of facility-level equipment that supports the R&D and production of quantum computing. This includes dilution refrigerators, Cryomech helium compressors, industrial water chillers, and facility power.
