ABOUT ADAM PATON STANLEY-SMITH
CEO and co-founder at Meaningful, a startup based in Munich, Germany. Meaningful is a data orchestration platform that seamlessly de-siloes critical data from primary research, online sources, AI perception, and client internal systems to create a holistic understanding of market conditions and consumer needs. Our core clients are full service marketing agencies that need accurate consumer insights for informed decisions, but we also work with consulting firms, consumer good and services companies, and HR teams. I came into the consumer research and data analytics field by chance after having met my co-founder Ajin in Munich and having a unique opportunity to build a new company that could make life easier for marketers and researchers. My previous work experience was focused around the military and then the security industry. I served in the United States Marine Corps first as an enlisted Marine (Combat Engineer) before receiving my commission and specializing as an Assault Amphibian Officer. I fought in Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom before deploying twice to Okinawa, Japan, and conducting training with our allies in Thailand, the Philippines, and Australia. I then served two years in the Marine Corps Special Operations Command before resigning my commission to study at HEC Paris and NHH Norway. After graduating, I worked for ten years as the Regional Director EMEA for the Ackerman Group where I dealt with issues ranging from resolving kidnappings and ransoms to providing geopolitical and security analysis along with travel guidance and security audits. I also served as the primary point of contact for sales and business development throughout the region. Later, I was recruited to help build Torchlight AI, a unique security and intelligence platform where I served in a variety of leadership and sales roles. When not busy with Meaningful, I occasionally conduct security audits or provide travel and geopolitical recommendations for clients.
