Fleet Data Scientist @Uptake
Greenville, SC, US
Utilize combined statistical and truck maintenance knowledge to perform exploratory data analysis, identifying potential problems, new model opportunities, mechanical failure patterns, and anomaly detection- Develop new Machine Learning models and approaches to ensure models generalize well and are robust in the face of fleet age, fleet mix, and telematics data variations- Tune and maintain existing models to ensure predictive insights are performing for both existing and new customers- Provide SME knowledge gained from previous Fleet Management and Fleet Maintenance Management experience to the Data Science team, helping team members improve their models by broadening their domain knowledge and understanding- Utilize state of the art Data Science tools and methods to develop and productionize predictive models (e.g, Python, AWS SageMaker, SQL, Git, XGBoost, Scikit-Learn, Scipy, Streamlit, Plotly)

ABOUT B. J. ADAMS
Who says diesel/gasoline and data don\'t mix? From my early days of maintaining and crewing helicopters in the Marine Corps to managing fleet operations, I\'ve always been close to the action. After an incident of fuel card theft was discovered while working as a Fleet Manager, I began developing a risk algorithm to detect these behaviors going forward.it was during this time, it became clear to me that many challenges in trucking and fleet management could be tackled with data-driven solutions. Now, I blend my hands-on experience with machine learning and AI to solve real-world problems in the transportation industry.Whether it\'s predicting maintenance needs before a breakdown turns into a roadside fiasco, optimizing routes and loads for maximum efficiency, or automating tedious processes that once ate up valuable time, I\'m all about building solutions and products that make operations managers\' worlds run a little smoother.Oh, and that time I \"accidentally\" founded a CrossFit gym? Let\'s just say I like building things—from businesses to algorithms—I am always looking for a problem to solve!Have a problem or idea that could benefit from the unique blend of an entrepreneurial data nerd who understands the nuts and bolts—literally—of the fleet and transportation industry? Don\'t hesitate to reach out—I’d love to connect!
