ABOUT ADAM LUBELL
Dr. Lubell is a Vancouver-based structural engineer with over 25 years of experience in the design of concrete, steel and masonry structures. He has led numerous projects to evaluate buildings for seismic and other extreme loading, alongside the development of conceptual and detailed designs for the modification, strengthening and rehabilitation of structures. As a key member of RJC’s Structural Technical Group, he contributes to promoting structural excellence, establishing technical standards for the company and gets involved in some of the firm’s most challenging projects.He is active in structural engineering research and teaching and currently holds an Adjunct Professor appointment at the University of British Columbia. From 2006 to 2012, he led the research and teaching programs in structural concrete at the University of Alberta. Primary research interests include the behaviour and design of reinforced and prestressed concrete structures, and the development of design methods to enable the efficient use of high-performance materials. His research on shear in reinforced concrete was recognized in 2006 through the ACI Design Award from the American Concrete Institute.Adam was an Associate Editor for the journal Structural Engineering International, published by the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE). He was Co-Chair of the Organizing Committee of the 2017 IABSE Symposium to be held in Vancouver, BC.Adam is a registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario.
