WORK HISTORY
Lead Technologist @dxw
GB
As part of the Tech Leadership team at dxw, I have significant autonomy to improve technical processes and standards across both the organisation and our client projects. As a Lead Technologist my role spans three core areas: line management, technical leadership, and technical architecture. I mentor and support developers within my teams and across dxw, helping them grow in their day-to-day work and longer-term careers. In my client-facing role I help shape the technical strategy for building digital services within complex government departments such as the Ministry of Justice. The focus is always on delivering services that improve outcomes for users and the public. My main work at dxw has been within the Probation Service, where I have operated in a hybrid Technical Architect and Product Owner role. I am responsible for ensuring services are designed and delivered in line with best practice, meeting user needs, compliance requirements, and technical standards while coordinating stakeholder engagement, research, prototyping, and delivery planning.

SKILLS
ABOUT ADAM HUGHES
I am a Lead Technologist at dxw utilising my skills from previous roles to build and improve technical solutions for the public sector.I have experience as a CTO, Frontend Developer, UX Designer and Product Owner creating products that have a distinct focus on the end user and innovation. In several of my roles I have managed multidisciplinary teams.I have had the pleasure of working with some great brands and companies such as- Liverpool Football Club- Arsenal Football Club- Aston Villa Football Club- BBC- Channel 4- VolkswagenI\'m currently building products with a variety of platforms and tools but I do have a soft spot for VueJS. However I believe that a great product is born from a great idea and execution, not the technology stack.I constantly look at developing new processes and standards and I strongly believe that a Frontend Developer should have an excellent understanding of Accessibility, Semantics and User Experience.I previously had my own independent design studio Forward Theory that focuses on user focused websites and hybrid applications. My first app Weather to ride was available on the Apple AppStore.I occasionally write development related articles on Medium and for publications like Web Designer Depot.
