Role involves provision of Intellectual Property (IP) and commercialisation support across a wide range of technology/product areas, including bioenergy, oil & gas and renewable energy. Key responsibilities have included- management of invention disclosures and various patent portfolios (working with internal and external Patent Attorneys)- development and provision of IP and commercialisation awareness training to technical team members- development and implementation of IP management and commercialisation strategies- providing IP/commercial support on various collaborative R&D projects and related agreements with third partiesKey highlights have included- leading on negotiations and reaching an agreement for a multi-million dollar bp investment in a multi-party JV to de-risk and scale up a novel renewable energy technology- negotiating and agreeing terms with a leading US University for bp to secure exclusive worldwide rights to commercialise a novel well drilling technology- negotiating and agreeing terms with a major Wells Service Provider for a trial of one of bp’s novel well drilling technologies
