   Oversees the design of a $90M cryogenics plant and distribution system for the world’s first net-energy nuclear fusion reactor, managing two cryogenics experts and six senior engineers in a ~350-person venture-backed MIT startup PROGRAM STRATEGY > Turned around a toxic work environment through personnel changes, policymaking, and culture setting, within first six months > Negotiated and led selection process for a multi-$10M, multi-year cryoplant contract with a major EU supplier > Developed program technical, schedule, and budget requirements, working with key stakeholders - CEO, Head of Engineering, major interfaces, major suppliers > Built cryogenics engineering function, hiring a senior cryogenics expert and four cryogenics engineers, bringing startup and large corporation, aerospace and national lab experience > Built cryogenics analysis function, hiring two thermal analysts > Sourced, selected, and onboarded a system integrator for temporary design services to accelerate I&C design efforts > Started cryogenics co-op program at two universities to build talent pipeline DESIGN MANAGEMENT > Developed technical cryogenics deliverables: wrote Cryogenics level one functional and performance requirements; reviewed thermohydraulic calculations, PFDs, P & IDs; developed helium inventory calculator; maintenance plan; detailed division of responsibility > Presented the 30% and 60% designs for formal review by +100 company leaders and industry experts
