ABOUT ADAM THOMPSON

I’m a Senior Teaching Fellow in Economics, passionate about connecting economic theory with real-world business and policy challenges. My teaching focuses on creating inclusive, engaging learning experiences for undergraduate and postgraduate students, with an emphasis on helping them build confidence in economics and quantitative methods. I hold a Senior Fellowship of Advance HE (SFHEA), recognising my leadership in teaching, curriculum design, and student experience.Alongside teaching, my research explores how students learn mathematics within economics and how financial information shapes charitable giving behaviour. I also serve on the Executive Committee of INERME (International Network for Educational Research on Mathematics in Economics), working with colleagues internationally to strengthen teaching and learning in the field.I’m driven by supporting students to think critically, solve problems creatively, and apply economics in ways that make an impact beyond the classroom.
