About Adam Terando

Research Ecologist and Climate Scientist with the Southeast Climate Science Center (US Geological Survey) located at North Carolina State University. Research focus on the impacts of climate change on ecosystems and the complex human-environment relationships that drive these processes. Recent work includes: evaluation of global climate model performance in the context of regional agro-climate and phenological indices; the potential for Bayesian analyses to be used to derive probabilistic climate change projections; development of methods to relate fire frequency to observed and projected climatic changes in the Southeast; use and refinement of cellular automata models to project urbanization patterns; and modeling the effect of path dependence on farmers’ ability to adapt to climate change.
