About Adam Tarosky

I am a recent alumnus of one of the most powerful offices in the Justice Department. The Civil Fraud Section, the clearinghouse for all False Claims Act activity in the country, annually coordinates the recovery of over $3 billion from government health care program providers, defense contractors, and other entities and individuals that do business with the government. As an attorney in the Section, my work lead to the recovery of hundreds of millions of dollars, the exclusion of unscrupulous Medicare providers, the bankruptcy of a practice that was overbilling Medicare and harming patients, and the seizure of assets of a bank holding company that obtained a federal loan through fraud. Before leaving DOJ, I spent a year serving the District of Columbia, my home, as a Special Assistant United States Attorney. I tried 20 cases and obtained 15 convictions. Now, I use my experience and inside knowledge to defend those who find themselves ensnared in prolonged and costly FCA investigations and qui tam actions initiated and sometimes litigated by whistleblowers long after the government steps aside. I have bookended my time in government with private sector experience, and I understand the demands of competitive business. Prior to DOJ, I defended major pharmaceutical companies and financial service institutions as an associate at Williams & Connolly LLP. I assisted in trying a watershed case involving allegedly false average wholesale drug prices and obtained several dismissals of actions against high profile clients including the Washington Post. Before that, I clerked for Judge Thomas M. Hardiman of the United States Court of Appeals Third Circuit. I graduated magna cum laude from Duke Law School in 2007 with a JD and LLM in Comparative and International Law.For examples of matters that I have recently handled, refer to my Nixon Peabody bio at:
