About Adam Sweeney

Today, I\'m a climate advocate and investor trying to help us make the changes to our society and economy that we need to avoid the most damaging impacts of global warming. Many others have been at this for far longer, so I do my best to get behind their efforts and help push. I only wish I\'d started helping sooner.I spent 30 years as a software guy mainly focused on systems software. The highlight of my career was spending 15 years helping to build Arista Networks. I\'m proud to say that we built a company where great software people love working and that we successfully took on the 800 lb gorilla of our industry. I also manage Hummingbird Climate Capital, a pool of capital put together with some friends to invest in climate-focused VC and infrastructure funds. My time and money goes to various charities, too. You\'ll see me post here on LinkedIn about them on occasion. There are many of them who can use our help.

   I work with the volunteer team at Climate Action California (https://climateactionca.org/) and Climate Action California Elections (https://climateactioncaelections.org/) to lobby for important climate legislation and to elect climate champions into office. The CAC team has deep knowledge and experience on many of the most important climate policy issues we face in California. I\'m excited to be able to work with them.
