ABOUT ADAM STAY

I am a highly successful Commercial Leader with General Management experience in the pharmaceutical industry, in both start-up biotech enterprises and established multinationals. I offer a strong track record of successful, multiple product launches in the UK, Ireland and internationally, for rare diseases and conditions with unmet medical needs. I always adopt a people-focused approach, leveraging strong leadership skills and in-depth scientific knowledge to drive teams towards business success at both a UK and regional level. I possess excellent stakeholder engagement skills and is capable of effectively communicating complex scientific information to individuals at all levels, from non-medical team members to senior clinicians. Business Growth / Scale-Up - successfully scaled Alnylam- built UK & I strategy and commercial organisation from scratch to achieve a demanding product launch schedule. First product launched within 18 months and won Prix Galien in 2022. Innovation – created an innovative and highly effective strategy for a ‘first-in-class’ launch for amyloidosis product at Alnylam which: embraced omnichannel marketing; deployed 3rd party e-reps to qualify sales leads with clinicians and partnered with leading medical societies including the British Society of Heart Failure Society to distribute marketing material. This led to significantly increased (circa 65%) diagnostic rates at the national treatment centre. Brand Development - successfully rolled out brand campaign across EMEA for Hospira’s first biosimilar monoclonal antibody, enabling a ‘first-in-class’ launch which achieved 10% market share. Built a campaign to explain the science and regulatory pathways as well as Hospira’s expertise in manufacturing biologic medicines which overcame a backdrop of reluctance from clinicians to prescribe. Campaign subsequently adopted globally.Stakeholder Engagement – organised and ran a large medical education standalone meeting for a new product launch in rare gastrointestinal (GI) disease with 200+ delegates, international faculty of 20+ speakers. Event received overwhelming positive feedback and is now an annual event. Award Winning Product Marketing – working with a small team, led the product marketing for the launch, a drug providing life changing management of an ultra-orphan condition, Pompe disease. Won Global marketing award for pre-launch patient identification campaign and Prix Galien in the UK (first time an orphan drug had won).
