ABOUT ADAM REYNOLDS
I am a psychotherapist and drama therapist with clinical, supervisory, and management experience in acute hospital, outpatient social service, and forensic settings. I received my PhD in Social Welfare at the CUNY Graduate Center, focusing on research around how systems and clinicians work with clients who have experienced traumatic events. I specialize in Developmental Transformations, an embodied, improvisational therapeutic technique that helps clients address difficult issues, break through maladaptive patterns, and increase their tolerance for the turbulence we experience during a crisis or as a part of daily life. My particular clinical focus is on working with children and adolescents in acute psychiatric crisis, as well as with child and adult survivors of trauma. Specialties: Populations: Adolescent, Child and Adult inpatient psychiatry, gay and lesbian issues, survivors of trauma. Embodied and improvisational therapies, Developmental Transformations, mask and movement work. Group Therapy and clinical program design. Interdisciplinary and multi-modality work.
