ABOUT ADAM MILLARD-BALL

I study how cities can reduce their greenhouse gas emissions, especially from transportation. My research examines urban street networks, walking and bicycling, parking policy, and climate action plans. I ask what policies help mitigate climate change and what motivates cities to implement these policies. I teach courses in data science, urban and environmental economics, and climate change planning.I currently direct the UCLA Institute of Transportation Studies, and I am also the Review Editor of the Journal of the American Planning Association.See my research website (https://millardball.its.ucla.edu) for more details of current projects and past publications.
