About Adam Melonas
CEO and founder of Chew, a Boston-based food innovation lab that boldly redefines what’s possible in the world of packaged food and beverages by creating products that are delicious, nutritious, sustainable, profitable and scalable. Founded in 2013, Chew, has partnered with some of the world’s largest food and beverage manufacturers to create more than products that offer solutions to the most pressing food-related issues of our time including combating childhood obesity, malnutrition and severe food allergies. With an \"anything is possible\" state of mind, I aim to empower and embolden companies with the tools and mindset needed to revolutionize a new and improved generation of food and beverage for the world’s rapidly evolving consumer. The commitment to making quality food accessible for all began with a career as a progressive chef in kitchens from Australia to Madrid. This background in experimental and progressive cuisine allowed me to help develop, manufacture and launch hundreds of products across international markets, from developing multiple product categories for The Australian Chia Co, to formulating and manufacturing concepts for IKEA and serving as Chief Innovation Officer and co-founder of Unreal Brands (Unjunked Candy). Outside of work in product development, I am a competitive Triathlete and work to share my vision for the future of the industry serving as a consultant for government health agencies around the world, a mentor for the Harvard University Innovation Lab and as a Senior Fellow at Babson College.
