I believe cybersecurity exists to protect people. Not as a slogan. As an obligation. It protects the systems that businesses depend on, the infrastructure that communities rely on, and the data that underpins modern economic life. When those systems fail, the consequences are operational, financial, and human. That responsibility has guided my career. I began in the United States Marine Corps, building and securing communications systems in operational environments where failure was not theoretical. That experience shaped how I think about resilience. Systems must work under pressure. Accountability must be clear. Execution must be disciplined. Since then, I have led cyber and technology initiatives across fintech, enterprise financial services, federal programmes, consulting, and global delivery environments. The industries have changed. The scale has changed. The core principle has not. Strong strategy matters. Innovation matters. AI matters. But none of it has value without operational clarity and durable execution. I have seen too many organisations mistake activity for progress. Real resilience comes from well-designed operating models, measurable accountability, and a willingness to confront uncomfortable truths early. This focus on structural clarity led me to write Accountability by Design, a book exploring how organisations establish enforceable governance models that translate strategy into real operational responsibility. Clear lines of accountability are not bureaucratic overhead; they are the mechanism by which resilience becomes durable. I think in systems and long time horizons. I value transparency, intellectual honesty, and principled disagreement. I am comfortable being challenged, and I expect the same from the teams I work with. AI will reshape cybersecurity delivery. Regulation will continue to intensify. Threat actors will continue to adapt. The answer is not noise or overreaction. It is building disciplined, scalable capabilities that hold when tested. My focus is consistent: raise the baseline. Strengthen what matters. Reduce friction where possible. Preserve trust under pressure.
