About Adam Johs

I am a Senior UX Researcher in Vanguard\'s Institutional Investor Group (Product, Advice, & Client Experience department) and earned my PhD from the College of Computing and Informatics at Drexel University. Prior to research, I served in the United States Air Force (USAF) as an enlisted aviator. Upon completing my service in the USAF, I spent several years in the healthcare information technology space. As a researcher, I have experience using qualitative methods to elicit feedback from users in academic and industry contexts. I have moderated semi-structured interviews and focus groups with experts, and facilitated unmoderated sessions (e.g, diary studies and usability testing) with prospective and client investors. My research expertise is predominantly qualitative, though I do have experience collecting and analyzing quantitative data derived from users answering closed-ended questions and partaking in cognitive interviewing (e.g, where a user explains each response they make while completing a questionnaire).
