About Adam Glick

I have been an engineer for as long as I can remember, always figuring out how things…

Experience

  1. Analytics Lead, Endpoint Detection and Response

    Broadcom

    May 2003 — Present

Broadcom\'s Symantec Enterprise division develops security software for the consumer and enterprise markets. In my years at Broadcom/Symantec, I have contributed as a developer, team lead, and architect to a great number of security products including Norton AntiVirus, Norton Personal Firewall, Norton Internet Security, Norton 360, Norton Security, Norton Power Eraser, Symantec Endpoint Protection and Symantec Advanced Threat Protection. I have played key leadership and development roles in devising and developing many of Broadcom/Symantec\'s most effective security technologies including SONAR behavioral detection, Insight file reputation, and Eraser\'s complex malware detection and remediation including advanced anti-rootkit technology. I\'ve been issued 20 patents (and counting) for my innovative security work. I train Broadcom/Symantec engineers not just how defensive security technologies work, but also how attackers exploit software (including the software we write), penetrate organizations, explore for valuable data and credentials, pivot and escalate their privilege level to improve their visibility, and exfiltrate information. This training gives invaluable knowledge about our adversaries, their methods, and their thought processes. I currently serve as Analytics Lead for Broadcom/Symantec\'s Endpoint Detection and Response (SEDR) product family. SEDR includes a network appliance that scans packets and sessions for malicious activities, an endpoint agent to search across the entire organization for Indicators of Compromise and perform automated remediation, and a cloud-based malware detonation service. I have previously served as Chief Architect for SEDR, and currently focus on the most important customer needs: finding breaches in progress and providing tools to deal with the incursion so companies can respond before the threat becomes catastrophic.
