ABOUT ADAM GAWNE

I’m a motivated and adaptable Health and Safety professional with a strong track record in working in a Health and Safety role. I hold the NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management Professionals and an MSc in Health, Safety and Environmental Management, supported by 5 years’ professional experience improving safety processes, strengthening compliance, and positively influencing safety culture.My work is underpinned by a specialist interest in behaviour change and safety psychology, developed through academic research and applied through leading carbon management and sustainability behaviour-change initiatives. I’m particularly motivated by finding practical, innovative ways of working that help people engage with safety in a meaningful and sustainable way.Over the past 15 years, working across multi-disciplinary teams and a wide range of stakeholders, I’ve developed strong skills in research, policy and process development, training delivery, briefings, toolbox talks, and project management. I’m known for communicating clearly, building constructive relationships, and working with people to develop solutions rather than imposing barriers.After a successful career within the Higher Education sector, I now work as a Health and Safety Advisor, where I fully utilise my knowledge, experience, and interpersonal skills to support colleagues and stakeholders to manage risk effectively and confidently.
