ABOUT ADAM FISHMAN

I have found great success focusing on a solution-based approach to achieve individual recovery goals such as the re-embracement of purpose, self-esteem, pride and confidence.Over the years I have come to realize through my own personal experience with addiction and through the experience of the clients I have worked with, that most people are initially scared and its hard for them to change their addictive patterns of behavior. We get stuck in a perpetual form of learned helplessness. Even though we know what we are doing is destructive to us and those around us, most of the time we just give in to our demons and give up. The sad part is, when we do that, it not only hurts us, but all of those around us as well.As a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor and a Certified Recovery/Life Coach, I believe in watching my clients more closely, keeping an eye on them, to protect them because they can\'t always see what they need - especially when they may feel overcome by a thick fog of emotions, misery, pain and resentments, coupled by the numbing and often distorting effect of alcohol and drugs. My goal is to be a guide for each client in his or her recovery journey and an advocate on his or her behalf. I believe in the creation of an atmosphere of trust and empathy, while standing by my clients\' side from their initial assessments through implementation of their treatment plans and multi-faceted recovery programs is essential.
