About Adam Segal-Isaacson

I am passionate about science and its important place in increasing our understanding of the world around us. A scientific outlook informs how I approach the world, and problem-solving in particular. What tools do I need to solve a given problem? How can the problem be solved efficiently? What are the dependencies that complicate the problem and its solution? Who in the organization can effectively help with the solution? Because the teams I have worked with have been scattered across several continents, I have become very familiar with the use and constraints of remote meeting software, such as Zoom or Google Meet, and management communication tools, such as Slack and Microsoft Teams, I am also a veteran user of Dropbox, Box, Google Docs, and other remote collaboration tools. For scientists, science publishing provides an essential tool for communication. Collaboration is essential for scientific knowledge to move forward. Scientific publishing is also essential for bringing important information to the public. I bring my passion to publishing projects to see that work is done efficiently and effectively. As publishing firms get enmeshed in technical concerns, I can also serve as an important link between business and technical teams, so that work can proceed properly. My knowledge of the publishing process “from soup to nuts” allows me to find creative solutions to problems that arise. Additionally, my ability to communicate to audiences with different knowledge bases assists in insuring that critical information is presented in an understandable manner. I am also passionate about publishing in general: everyone deserves a voice and I have worked with a number of groups outside of science publishing to aid that. I can edit anything, and can write material for audiences from professional to lay. Writing samples available upon request.
