Performing project hydrogeology and geochemistry involving the analysis of lithologic, hydraulic, and geochemical data (including PHREEQC geochemical modeling, Geochemist\'s Workbench, and Aqtesolv aquifer-testing software) to support conceptual site model development and remedial system operation and design. • Evaluate remedial system performance data (e.g, injection and extraction well specific capacities, system flow rates, groundwater contaminant and by-product chemical concentrations) to optimize and enhance the efficacy of large dynamic groundwater recirculation systems.• Abandoned uranium mine site characterization to delineate areas disturbed by mining activities, or technologically enhanced naturally occurring radioactive material (TENORM), from naturally occurring radioactive material (NORM). Site characterization activities include detailed review of historical records and aerial imagery, geological/geomorphological and mining-related disturbance field mapping, collection of high-resolution gamma data by walkover scans using sodium iodide scintillation detectors, volume calculations derived from vertical delineation of mine pits and other mining disturbance features, and sediment sampling for radionuclides and associated metals.• Preparing technical reports and data analyses to evaluate and communicate remediation performance and make recommendations to achieve cleanup goals for a variety of high-profile environmental remediation projects, including groundwater and soil remediation and abandoned-uranium mine reclamation.• Additional field experience includes drilling soil/sediment borings and installation of monitoring, extraction, and injection wells via direct push and sonic drilling methods; soil and sediment logging and characterization; groundwater and soil sampling; and monitoring well gauging.
