Core Responsibilities: 1. Fleet Management • Vehicle Maintenance: Oversee routine and preventative maintenance to ensure all vehicles are operational and safe. • Vehicle Allocation: Assign vehicles to various units or departments based on operational needs. Logistics Coordination • Transportation Planning: Develop and implement transportation plans for missions, deployments, and other logistical needs. • Route Management: Determine optimal routes for efficiency and safety. • Coordination with Units: Work closely with other departments to ensure transportation requirements are met. Personnel Management • Training and Supervision: Train and supervise drivers and other transport personnel. • Scheduling: Develop and manage work schedules for transport staff to ensure coverage and efficiency. Safety and Compliance • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all transportation activities comply with local and military regulations. • Safety Protocols: Implement and enforce safety protocols to protect personnel and assets. • Incident Response: Respond to and investigate transportation incidents or accidents. Budget and Resource Management • Budgeting: Develop and manage the transportation budget, ensuring cost-effective operations. Especially White Fleet due to aging Green Fleet. • Resource Allocation: Allocate resources efficiently to meet operational demands.Additional Skills and Competencies: • Leadership: Strong leadership and decision-making skills to manage teams effectively. • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with various organisations (both civilian and military) • Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly and effectively resolve logistical and operational issues. • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of vehicle mechanics and transport logistics. • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in planning and documentation.
