ABOUT ADAM BALLS
As the Senior Medical Director of ED/Trauma for the Canyons Region at Intermountain Health, I oversee the emergency and trauma services for a network of hospitals and clinics in Utah. I have more than 12 years of experience in leading community EDs and Level 1 Trauma Centers, with a focus on patient safety, quality, and efficiency. I am also a board-certified emergency physician, practicing at Intermountain Medical Center, the flagship hospital of the system.My passion is to create resilient and high-performing teams that deliver exceptional patient care and satisfaction. I have developed and implemented various initiatives to improve healthcare outcomes, access, and coordination across service lines, as well as to provide peer support and mental health resources for caregivers. I have also leveraged my military background and experience as a critical care air transport team member to foster a culture of collaboration, trust, and excellence among my colleagues and partners. My professional goal is to continue to advance the field of emergency medicine and trauma care, and to inspire and empower the next generation of leaders.
