My name is Adam, but plenty of folks know me as Zanie or Zane. About a decade of front end work, mostly at Amazon, Uber, Flock Freight, Tread, and now Shopify. Best at: design systems designers actually want to use, migrations through code so old it has feelings, and performance work measured in seconds. Platform team for Brochure, the system behind Shopify\'s marketing surfaces. We own CI, dev tooling, the component library, and docs. Hundreds of internal contributors build on top of us.A few things I\'ve shipped- Led the platform\'s Tailwind 3 → 4 migration.~70% drop in average bundle size- Proposed and rolled out a three-tier design token system for the component library. Coherent by default, flexible where it matters- Introduced React-free component variants. Pages that adopt them see ~2s LCP improvements- Ran a migration that purged and replaced several thousand legacy static pages- Rewrote the Investors site front end in two weeks.
