Responsible for the smooth running of the home alongside the registered manager. Taking full responsibility in their absence. • Responsible for the receipt, storage, handling, administration, issue, and disposal of all medications in line with procedures and ensuring completion of the appropriate documentation. • Responsible for health and safety and quality assurance auditing. • Matrix management for QA, H&S, and staff training. • Money management, ensuring correct documentation is completed and ledgers are updated. • Ensuring each resident has a person-centred care plan that is suitable to need, promotes resident and/or family involvement, and risk assessments are in place where necessary. • Assisting the registered manager in the selection and recruitment of staff and assisting in the preparation of duty rotas. • Conducting staff meetings and ensuring minutes are recorded and shared with all staff. • Training and developing staff to ensure they meet the requirements of their job role. • Ensuring all duties carried out by staff are at the required standard and that all staff contribute to a happy and homely atmosphere. • Ensuring staff supervision and appraisals are conducted at required intervals. • To supervise all aspects of catering to ensure food safety standards are met and support in the development of menus, in particular, ensuring any special dietary requirements are met. • Participating in the planning of social activities for residents. • Assisting the registered manager in resolving and handling complaints received from residents, staff, and visitors as appropriate. • Keeping up to date with all relevant legislation and regulations and ensure relevant changes are communicated to staff. • Ammending policies and procedures and/or producing new documents as required. • Ensuring equality, diversity, and inclusion are promoted at all times. • Ensuring strict confidentiality of relevant information at all times.
