ABOUT ADAM AFANEH

My leadership began to develop once I was promoted to the Cook 1 position at Wente Vineyards. I began to run small scale events, lead small teams, and communicate with supervisors. After a year in this position, I was promoted to Prep Superviosr. The Prep Superviosr position is where I began to develop my leadership skills even more. I had six other managers that would guide me on how to be an effective leader and communicator. The Prep Superviosr position also helped me grow my experience in administration and email etiquette as I was responsible for communication with many other departments in the company. These Positions all led to my development and success as a lead line cook at Wente Vineyards. I used all of my organizational, culinary, communicative, and leadership skills to be successful in my role as a respected leader. My development in leadership and management only began to expand from my lead position at Wente. Due to covid lay offs, I secured a new position as a restaurant manger at Yafa Hummus. This position allowed me to develop myself immensely with my leadership styles and tactics. This role also grew my business professionalism as I was in charge of scheduling, training, and financial reports. After a year at Yafa Hummus, I transferred from Las Positas Community College to University of California, Santa Cruz. I was a full time student taking 15-20 credits studying Business Management & Economics, and decided to take on the position as lead line cook at Jack O\'Neil Restaurant & Lounge. I managed my time well with school and work, and at this time is where I decided to also introduce a business club at UCSC. The club started out as a study group, and grew to its current size of over 300 supporters and having many departments from finance, marketing, IT, HR, R&D, outreach & career development, professional events, & administrative. Business Economics Academia (Business club) helped my develop my political leadership as the president, and understand the importance of proper delegation as well as the importance of moral.I am now looking to develop my professionalism and am eager to become involved in new endeavors.
