I independently managed 15 research protocols in pediatric epilepsy and headache clinical trials within federal and institutional regulations and policies under the direction of 3 principal investigators. I also acted as a key liaison between investigators, sponsors, diverse participant populations, including vulnerable persons, and multiple hospital departments, streamlining communication to optimize study progression and participant engagement. I further ensured regulatory integrity of study protocols by preparing and submitting essential documents and reports to sponsors, IRB, and other oversight bodies to maintain alignment with federal regulations, sponsor SOPs, and institutional policies. I also assumed a leadership role amongst my team by training and mentoring new team members on research processes, as well as mentoring a high school student.

ABOUT ARMELLE DÉJOIE
Armelle is a budding global health professional passionate about mitigating negative health determinants through effective healthcare financing and delivery. Her experiences in various health settings in Haiti, the United States, Mexico, and Ghana have given her insight into the challenges and strengths of various healthcare systems. She previously researched health system readiness and uptake of the RTS,S malaria vaccine in Ghana. Currently, Armelle works as a research coordinator for studies looking into medication to treat epilepsy resulting from Dravet Syndrome as well as headache/migraine in children.As a future physician, Armelle wants to leverage her knowledge and skills to inform local and hospital health programs to better outcomes in rural and urban settings. Born and raised in Haiti, Armelle also values the power of education and its potential to help people rise out of poverty and improve health both at the individual and community level. She volunteers with US-based NGO Children’s Peace Project, which supports education for Haitian students. Armelle also acts as a consultant for their in-country partner school.Armelle completed her M.S. in Global Health and B.S. in Biology of Global Health at Georgetown University. As a result of her multicultural and multilingual background, Armelle loves exploring through outdoor activities, traveling, learning languages, and cooking. Through her cooking, she showcases that one does not have to sacrifice cultural foods in the name of being healthy.
