ABOUT ANDREW WALKER

I am Director and Head of Marine Infrastructure UK at NIRAS, leading a multidisciplinary team delivering port, harbour and coastal engineering projects across the UK and internationally.With nearly two decades in heavy civil maritime engineering, my work focuses on helping port authorities, developers and public sector clients plan, design and manage complex marine infrastructure. Much of that work involves extending the life of ageing assets, supporting port expansion, and helping infrastructure adapt to the changing demands of offshore wind, new energy and evolving trade.My role combines technical leadership with responsibility for business performance, project delivery and long term client relationships. I work closely with our engineers, specialists and partners across the NIRAS group to bring the right expertise to each project.Over the years I have been fortunate to work on a wide range of marine structures including quays, breakwaters, jetties and coastal infrastructure, often in challenging environments. I have extensive experience operating under NEC contracts and am an NEC4 Accredited Project Manager.I am particularly interested in how digital tools and asset management approaches can help infrastructure owners make better decisions about maintenance, investment and long term resilience.Above all, I believe strong teams and trusted client relationships are what ultimately deliver successful projects.
