As a validation Engineer on the Renault Virtual Sensors project, in collaboration with the chassis team at Ampere ST, I am responsible for validation software-based estimators designed to estimate physical quantities such as road grip, static and dynamic vehicle mass, and others. My focus is on ensuring the performance, compliance of these virtual sensors with functional requirements, and robustness under various driving conditions.Key responsabilities- Test Scenarios Design: Creating and configuring realistic driving scenarios in IPG CarMaker Simulator, including modeling of road surfaces (adhesion level, lane geometry, etc.) to simulate critical use cases- Simulation Automation: Developing automated simulation workflows using CarMaker\'s Python API to execute large batches of tests- Software Integration: Integrating estimation logic developed in MATLAB/Simulink into the simulation environment via: Co-simulation, running both CarMaker and Simulink in parallel, or Code generation, compiling Simulink models into executable and linking them into CarMaker as plugins- Validation & Analysis: Running simulation compaigns to assess estimator behaviour against functional requirements.
