As a Construction Engineer Technologist, Mr. Borthwick founded Accessible Solutions Inc.(ASI) in 1996. For 20 plus years, Mr. Borthwick has successfully lead ASI to complete over 3,500 housing assessments throughout Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Quebec, the Maritimes and the USA. Mr. Borthwick ensures that catastrophically-impaired clients’ homes are expertly assessed and that an accurate quantum value for home modifications is established based on a scope of work and costing which can be considered both “reasonable and necessary” as per the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule (SABS). Mr. Borthwick’s extensive experience and expertise continues to be recognized through high-profile initiatives like appointment by the Ontario Minister of Community & Social Services to serve on the implementation committee for the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act as well as to act as an advisor to the Accessible Built Environment Standards Development Committee. Mr. Borthwick is also recognized by the Supreme Court of Ontario as a housing expert.
