I teach soil genesis and soil mineralogy in undergraduate and graduate courses since 1993. I am responsible for the ARGILAB (Soil mineralogy lab at ESALQ-USP) and GPemso is my research group at University of Sao Paulo. I also am responsible for a educational/extension initiative,\"PONTE- Solo na Escola\", that promote soil education to general public and school students in all levels up middle school. At present, our main project, EDUCARBON, is focused into climate change and biodiversity education to middle school students in public schools. My research is now dealing mainly with the weathering of mafic rocks in soil environments and its relationship with soil mineralogy and carbon capture (TERW- Terrestrial Enhanced Rock Weathering), and also with use of lithogenic phyllosilicates (clays) to increase the edaphic resilience of sandy soils.
